Jozie de Deuge

Psychologist

Jozie is a dedicated and compassionate psychologist with over nine years of experience in the mental health sector. Her professional journey has spanned diverse roles across research, community health, and private practice, all driven by a deep commitment to fostering accessibility, inclusion, and positive outcomes for individuals of all backgrounds.

Holding a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Honours) from the University of Tasmania, Jozie has contributed to meaningful research in youth mental health services and has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults, including those from neurodiverse and culturally diverse communities. Her passion lies in empowering young people, particularly those navigating complex challenges, and she brings a thoughtful, strengths-based approach to every client interaction.

Jozie’s clinical experience includes working in both the disability and community sectors, where she has supported individuals with complex mental health presentations and played an active role in facilitating community reintegration and supporting long-term wellbeing.

Currently practising in private practice, Jozie focuses on supporting children and adolescents through evidence-based, developmentally appropriate interventions, with an emphasis on neuro-inclusive and culturally sensitive care.

A proud Launceston local, Jozie enjoys life in Tasmania alongside her husband and two young children. Outside of her professional work, she finds joy in exploring the outdoors, cooking, and making the most of the region’s exceptional local produce.
