Since relocating to Australia in 2020 and registering with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), JP has been dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges. He has a particular passion for working with individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions, and brings warmth, insight, and evidence-based care to every interaction.
JP works with clients presenting with mood disorders, anxiety, and related emotional difficulties. He draws on a range of therapeutic approaches—including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)—to tailor treatment plans to individual needs.
With a holistic and person-centred approach, JP considers all aspects of a person's life when guiding therapeutic interventions. He is also skilled in conducting a variety of psychological assessments to inform diagnosis and support effective, targeted treatment.
JP’s educational background spans Health Sciences and Psychology. He earned his undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in 2011, followed by a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Master of Arts in Research Psychology from the same institution.
Outside work, JP values time with his family. On the weekends, he enjoys road cycling, mountain biking, and scuba diving. He also has a keen interest in philosophy, particularly the study of consciousness.
