Lisa Van Zetten

BEHAVIOUR THERAPIST

Supporting neurodiverse individuals and their families with practical, evidence-based strategies

Lisa provides practical solutions and support for clients and their families who are experiencing behavioural challenges. She holds a Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education from Flinders University and is a registered NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner, as well as a registered Developmental Educator.

Lisa’s professional interests include Autism, ADHD, parent training, sensory processing, and early intervention. She is passionate about working alongside families of neurodiverse children and adolescents, helping them to develop effective strategies, build essential life skills, and enhance emotional regulation, executive functioning, social competence, and independence in their daily lives.

Lisa is committed to understanding the underlying causes of challenging behaviours and identifying ways to better meet each individual’s needs. Her work is grounded in a Positive Behaviour Support model, which is person-centred and strength-based, focusing on the individual’s unique interests and abilities.

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, Lisa develops Functional Behaviour Assessments and comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans andks with clients under NDIS Behaviour Support funding. She also works with clients under Early Intervention and Improved Daily Living streams and is available to see private clients (non-NDIS) on request.

Lisa offers flexibility in service delivery, meeting with clients in the therapy room, as well as offering home and school visits. These visits allow her to understand the client’s natural environment and provide targeted support when introducing new strategies.

She is a proud member of Developmental Educators Australia Inc. (DEAI) and Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners Australia (PBSA), and is accredited with Siblings Australia, supporting siblings of children with disability. Lisa also contributes to the field as a committee member for the Australian Conference on Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ACND), held biennially in Launceston, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to professional development and advocacy within the sector.

Outside of work, Lisa is a busy mum to 3 teenage kids, spending lots of time driving and on the sporting sidelines… escaping to the beach with her family when she can.
